Ampol Penguin Welcomes Rachel and Joel as Kerri-Anne Hands Over the Reins

Ampol Penguin Welcomes Rachel and Joel as Kerri-Anne Hands Over the Reins

After nearly 17 years operating Ampol Penguin, Kerri-Anne is handing over the keys to Rachel and Joel Callander, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the much-loved local business.

For Kerri-Anne, the decision was made easier knowing the business would remain in familiar hands.

"Rachel has worked for me for about four years, and I've known Joel since he and my son were at primary school together," she said.

"They often joked that if I ever decided to sell, I should let them know first. One day after Christmas they asked again, and this time I said yes. Rachel and Joel are the perfect fit for the business – they're young, enthusiastic and full of great ideas."

While stepping away from ownership is bittersweet, Kerri-Anne said the support from customers since announcing the change has reminded her just how special the Penguin community is.

"I've built some wonderful relationships over the years and I'll miss seeing so many familiar faces," she said.

"Thank you to all of our customers for your support over the past 17 years. It has meant more than you know."

Kerri-Anne said she looks forward to supporting Rachel and Joel through the transition and helping them settle into the business.

As locals with strong ties to the North-West Coast, Rachel and Joel are excited to continue serving the community they know so well. The couple said owning a business together had long been a goal, and Ampol Penguin felt like the perfect fit.

"We've always loved the idea of running our own business, and this opportunity felt right from the start," Rachel said.
The couple said they are most excited about continuing the services customers already know and love, including friendly service, driveway service, giftware and hardware, while growing the business together as a family and introducing new products to meet the needs of the community.

"We're excited to continue providing the friendly local service customers know and love, while building on the strong foundation Kerri-Anne has created."

Customers are invited to join Rachel and Joel at a community celebration on Saturday 11 July from 11am to 1pm. The day will include free sausages, Bonney giveaways, a chance to win a $50 in-store voucher, a visit from the Penguin mascot and 20% off everything in store.

While ownership may be changing, customers can expect the same friendly service and community focus that has made Ampol Penguin a valued part of the community.
