Bonney Energy at the Ulverstone Christmas Parade

Bonney Energy at the Ulverstone Christmas Parade

Bonney Energy made a grand entrance at the Ulverstone Christmas Parade last Friday, bringing character, cheer and a touch of hip-hop humour to the North-West Coast.

In a playful nod to the 6 CENT savings campaign launched earlier this year with RACT, the theme for 2025 was “6 CENT, but festive.” Parade participants embraced the brief wholeheartedly, dressing as cheerful Festive Rappers complete with oversized 6c chains, Bonney bucket hats and plenty of Christmas flair. The crowd-favourite character “6 CENT” may be fictional, but his spirit was well and truly alive on the streets of Ulverstone.

Bonney Energy’s float featured a festive three-vehicle convoy, each decorated with tinsel and Christmas decorations. Leading the way was the Bonney Beast, our iconic Nissan Navara, fully tinselled from bonnet to tailgate. Next came “Santa’s Servo,” a transformed flat-bed trailer complete with a tinselled Bonney bowser, Polar Express train, hay-bale reindeer, a tyre Christmas tree and a present arch. Behind was a rigid truck, with cheeky Elf on the Shelf characters climbing the back ladder and drawing plenty of smiles from the crowd.

The atmosphere was electric, with families lining the streets and our youngest Bonney participants buzzing with excitement. Kiona Wilson, GM Sales, said the enthusiasm behind the scenes was just as strong as what the community saw on parade night: “Once we announced we were taking part, the excitement was instant. It wasn’t just the kids - the adults had just as much fun getting involved and being part of the parade.”

Bonney Energy extends a heartfelt thank you to Central Coast Council for hosting such a fantastic community event. We were proud to be part of it again—and we’ll be back next year, bigger, brighter and even more festive.
