Introducing Bonney's Local
Bonney Energy is proud to introduce Bonney’s Local, a new retail site concept shaped by heritage, community and the everyday role the local service station plays in regional towns.
The Bonney family has been part of the Tasmanian community for more than 70 years, with the late Byron Bonney and his father, Lloyd Bonney, both playing integral roles in the regions they lived and worked in. Bonney’s Local is a nod to that legacy, a continuation of a long-standing commitment to serving local people, while evolving to meet the needs of today.
Inspired by old-school servos, Bonney’s Local draws on a sense of nostalgia that feels warm, familiar and inviting. The brand is designed to feel approachable rather than polished, taking cues from the service stations many Australians grew up with - places that felt personal, practical and part of the community.
Across the network, spaces are being refreshed to feel warmer, cleaner and more welcoming. Refined layouts, brighter interiors and thoughtful touches are helping create environments that feel cared for, drawing inspiration from the warmth and familiarity of the old Golden Fleece stations many locals still remember.
“We wanted Bonney’s Local to feel like it truly belongs in the communities it serves,” says Sean Muir, GM Retail at Bonney Energy. “Each site has its own role, from Epping Forest, where a broader food offering makes it a natural stop-in point, to Halls Gap, where a smaller, purposeful range is shaped around what locals need. That individuality is something we’re proud to embrace.”
Bonney’s Local is a fresh take on something you already know- your local servo, done right. Epping Forest will be the first site to launch under the Bonney’s Local banner, with plans to progressively roll out the concept across all Bonney-operated retail sites throughout 2026. As the concept expands, customers can expect a renewed focus on community, convenience and quality in the places they fuel up every day.
