Payment Terminal Instructions

At the Outdoor Payment Terminal select [1] for fuel or insert your card, choose your pump number, and follow the prompts. You’ll be asked to enter a pre-authorisation amount. This is temporarily charged to your card, but you’ll only pay for the fuel you dispense. Any unused balance is automatically returned to your account. Once authorised, you can fill up your vehicle.

Once you finish filling up and return the nozzle, the transaction will finalise. If you would like a receipt, simply select [2] at the payment terminal and tap/insert your card.

What is a pre-authorisation amount?

A pre-authorisation amount is a temporary hold placed on your payment card before fuelling, to confirm you have sufficient funds.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Before fuelling, when you insert or tap your card at the pump, the system requests an authorisation for a preset amount - commonly $40, $80, or $100.

  2. This amount is not actually charged, but it’s temporarily held by your bank while you fill up.

  3. Once fuelling is complete, the actual transaction amount replaces the pre-authorisation, and the remaining funds are released.

  4. Depending on your bank, the release can be instant or take up to a few business days to appear back in your available balance.

Please note: If you experience any delays or issues with the return of your funds, we recommend contacting your bank directly, as they control the timing of these releases. While we’re happy to provide any information that may assist, we’re unable to reverse or speed up the process ourselves.
